About Mrs. Lalitha Venkataraman, Artistic Director.
Mrs. Lalitha Venkataraman has been teaching classical carnatic music in Vocal and Veena in
the Bay Area for over a decade.

Mrs. Venkataraman is a retired Professor of Music (Classical Carnatic Music of India)
specializing in Veena.

From 1993 - 1999 : She was a staff of Shri Krupa Dance Foundation. During her tenure Mrs.
Venkataraman performed solo recitals, scored music for dance ballets, trained students for
Musical orchestra, directed group singing and played accompaniment for dance programs.

From 1966 - 1992: Mrs. Venkataraman joined as Lecturer in Music at Mysore University, India
and retired as a Professor of Veena. She was regarded with reputation as a popular and
competent teacher as well as a good organizer.

Mrs. Lalitha Venkataraman was sponsored by Sangeetha Nataka Academy, Madras and
performed all over South India. She has given concerts all over India and in USA.

Mrs Venkataraman is a Senior "A" grade artist in All India Radio" and Doordarshan. She has
performed in National, Regional, and Invited Audience Concerts organized by All India Radio.
She has scored Music and produced Feature presentation of eminent composers for All India
Radio.

Mrs. Lalitha Venkataraman received the " Sangeeetha Vidwan" title from Central College of
Carnatic Music, Madras. She graduated wih Gold Medal with distinction.

Mrs. Venkataraman started learning music when she was five years old.  Her Gurus were
Veenai Sundaram Iyer, Devakottai Narayana Iyengar, Kalyana Krishna Bhagavathar and
Kalpagam Swaminathan.
